Quick Fire Five

1. Favourite paint colour?

Ooh, tough one—that’s like picking a favourite child, haha! But if you twisted my arm, then I’d say Farrow & Ball’s Inchyra Blue is a firm favourite for its chameleon-like quality.

2. Must have interiors accessory?

Great lighting, hands down.

3. Signature interiors move?

Weaving in dark, rich tones to ground a space.

4. Go to interiors brand?

Arlo & Jacob and Soho Home. I’m also a huge fan of hunting down vintage treasures—each piece brings a story and soul to a space.

5. Interiors pet peeve?

I’ve got quite a few, but the ones I see time and again are, too small rugs and too short curtains. That “floating” look is never a good one!

Four Insider Insights

1. Give us the scoop on your first interior design job & how much you made?

My first job was an e-design for a family room. It was a dream project—the clients had a realistic budget, were open to ideas, and just a absolute joy to work with. As for what I made… let’s just say it taught me a lot about valuing my time and expertise!

2. Biggest regret or mistake?

Not making the career change sooner. But I look at it positively—it’s given me a lifetime of experiences to draw from, which makes me a better designer and business owner.

3. Biggest achievement or learning to date?

My proudest moment was taking the leap into interior design and starting my business in my late 40s. My biggest learning has been to trust my gut and know it’s okay to say “no” to a project.

4. What’s next for your business?

I’ve just started working on my first commercial project, and I’m excited to grow that side of the business. And I just want to continue enjoying this wild ride!
